Bulldog è una delle prime, ed è anche uno dei coffeeshop più antichi di Amsterdam. È stato fondato nel 1975 da Henk de Vries, che ha trasformato un piccolo negozio nella struttura attuale: uno dei marchi di cannabis più grandi e famosi.
La fonte di ispirazione di Henk è stata il suo bulldog Joris. Poche persone conoscono il suo nome, ma di certo tutti riconoscono il suo aspetto, divenuto il logo di una delle aziende più potenti del settore della cannabis.
